Mother’s House is situated at the north end of Pondicherry, directly at the seashore. The distance to the Ashram is 1.5 km.  The house has twelve rooms. Effective 1st of March, the charge for a sea-facing room is Rs. 700 to Rs. 800 and for a side-facing room Rs. 500 per day.  Minimum booking is four days.  Guests who have an advance booking and check-out earlier than their booked check-out date, will be charged for 3 extra days.

Monday through Saturday we serve a vegan breakfast at a rate of RS 210.- There is no lunch or dinner service and no breakfast on Sundays.

A small amount of refrigeration is provided in the kitchen as well as some dry storage space for each room in the dining area.

Mother’s House has a small library and a meditation room. Every evening there is a gathering in the meditation room to repeat Japa of the Mother’s Name loudly from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM every day.

As an exceptional service to our guests a new water filter has been installed at Mother’s House which by a process of reverse osmosis removes all impurities from the municipal water and delivers safe water, even for drinking, out of every tap in the house.

NOTE: Check-out time at Mother’s House is 11 AM.

If your arrival is before 8AM in the morning, you will be charged from the previous day.  If you arrive between 8 AM and 11 AM your check-out time will be the same as your check-in time.

Smoking and drinking are strictly prohibited at Mother’s House.  We follow the same guidelines that were established by The Mother for the Sri Aurobindo Ashram.
